HARDCORE: Beauty, A Radical Act
Wednesday - Sunday / 10:00 - 18:00 hrs

To push a boundary—stretch it to its limit, and then go beyond it. To crack open. To innovate through the absolute, sometimes unwilling, annihilation of a previous concept. The underground. The avant-garde. The Independent.

To go against the grain. Hardcore.

In this exhibition, form and content are inextricably linked.

The artists gathered here— Can Can Press, Jose Dávila, Gabriel Rico, Sebastián Silva, Jorge Méndez Blake, and SUPERFLEX—each, in their own way, defy traditional modes of depicting language, literature, or expression. Whether by transgressing the printed page and making newsprint the medium rather than the message (as in the work of Jose Davila), by investigating poetry as a form of democracy (Jorge Méndez Blake), or by using innovative and conceptually challenging making methods to express philosophical ideals (SUPERFLEX), repetition and systems (Gabriel Rico), or a surreal poetics of daily life (Sebastián Silva)—each practice embodies a refusal to conform.

Together, their works are radical acts of beauty and expression.
